IM Corona – Old Boy Rhodium Pipe Lighter (64 6415)

Rhodium finish with pipe shapes deeply engraved on both side, complete with removable tamper and pick in the base. The IM Corona Old Boy Lighters are a household name when it comes to pipe lighters, they are seen by many as one of the most reliable and well-made lighters on the market today. Established in the 1930’s in Japan they began making a range of liquid fuelled lighters and as many Japanese companies, they helped shaped the modern lighter world.  Through innovations in the use of butane gas, interchangeable fuel tanks and innovative ignition systems. The use of high quality materials and modern machinery, Corona have been at the peak of lighter manufacture for over 80 years.  

The Old Boy pipe lighters have changed very little since Corona first released them back in the 1940’s, with  much of its aesthetics proudly based on the early liquid fuel lighters. By opening the cap at the top of the lighter, the gas is released and a quick flick of the flint wheel and you have a stable, soft flame. Closing the snuffer/cap turns off the gas and extinguishes the flame. Unlike cigarette lighters, these pipe models feature a 90 degree angled flames, reducing the risk of burning the rim of your pipe and of course your thumb.

All IM Corona lighters come boxed, with a soft pouch and 2 year warranty. They can be repaired at the UK Lighter Centre or other national repair centres around the world. From the fuel tank, to flint wheel and snuffer spring, all spare parts are made to be serviceable and replaced. Which is what has helped with lighter become acclaimed with pipe smokers, as one of the most reliable around.

Uses standard Butane gas purchased from Hardware shops and supermakets. Regular flints (Zippo, Ronson or Clipper) are needed for this lighter and are inserted on the top of the lighter.
